With all the conversation around Juneteenth, I wanted to look for the kind of books we aim to carry in store, but with an African American connection. I was pleasantly surprised at the treasure trove of scientists, past and present, authors and science writers that I learned about. There are too may to list them all but below my attempt to collect a few in a variety of genre's and styles.
In the process, I learned of several young science writers that I believe are on the cusp and will have wonderful new science books - both children's and adult's - in the coming years. I will be following them closely!
